Sustainable design and building physics
At Bryden Wood we have, over time, developed a cross-disciplinary approach in response to this reality and the need to design towards the process – to rationalise, coordinate and develop a fully integrated design solution.
However, we built PRiSM so that it could be expanded to include additional housing typologies and geographies in future, if we were to open the app up for further adoption in suburban or rural settings. In this sense, PRiSM represents a truly open-ended workflow, with the potential for continual expansion and development.. Driving Value with PRiSM: Quality and Affordability in Residential Architecture.
The initial 2019 launch of PRiSM was well attended by a cross-section of people from the industry. However, the general reaction towards these types of MMC tools and processes within the industry remains mixed. Some people are excited about the potential and transformative functionality of new technologies, but others feel more threatened by things like automation in design and construction.
At Bryden Wood, we don’t see these tools as detrimental to the jobs of industry professionals.Instead, we see them as opportunities.
MMC technologies unlock potential to evolve our role as designers.
With the time saving benefits created, we are able to design more buildings and infrastructure to a higher standard. One of Rosa’s many skills is delivering projects on time and on budget, without compromising the architectural design.Steven joined Bryden Wood in 2006, initially working as a project architect to deliver the 1500 person Hertfordshire County Council office refurbishment scheme..
He has subsequently been involved in a series of large framework projects across the UK for various clients in sectors including aviation, residential, healthcare and commercial.During the most recent years he is been leading the early design development of a. new type of rehabilitative prison.
for the Ministry of Justice.. Steven also holds a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Multimedia Technology and Virtual Reality and prior to working at Bryden Wood gained five years of experience designing and implementing data-driven web applications. He is using the skills acquired in this field to standardise the approach to the briefing and decision making processes for architectural projects and develop an evidence-based approach to architectural design..
